What is 3D  Mammography?
3D Mammography, also known as Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT), is an advanced breast imaging technique that creates a three-dimensional view of the breast using multiple low-dose X-ray images taken from different angles. This method improves cancer detection rates and reduces false positives compared to conventional 2D mammography, especially in women with dense breast tissue.

This method is used for:

• Routine breast cancer screening
• Evaluating suspicious findings from physical examination or other imaging methods
• Detecting cancers that may be hidden in dense breast tissue
• Reducing recall rates in screening programs

3D Mammography provides clearer and more detailed images, allowing radiologists to examine breast tissue layer by layer. The procedure is quick, typically taking only a few minutes. Results can usually be obtained the next day.
