What is Choline PET/CT?
Choline PET/CT is an advanced nuclear medicine imaging method used primarily in the diagnosis and follow-up of prostate cancer. In this technique, a radiolabeled choline compound is administered to the patient. Since prostate cancer cells have an increased demand for choline to build cell membranes, they absorb this compound at a higher rate, making them visible in the scan.
This method is used for:
Choline PET/CT enables whole-body imaging with high accuracy, especially in detecting lesions that may not be visible with other imaging methods. Results can usually be obtained the next day.
Special English reports are prepared for international patients, and the process is managed with language support.
