What is DaT-scan?
DaT-scan is a specialized nuclear medicine imaging method used to visualize dopamine transporter activity in the brain. It helps differentiate Parkinson’s disease and similar movement disorders from other conditions with similar symptoms. In this technique, a radiopharmaceutical that binds to dopamine transporters is injected into the patient’s bloodstream. This allows detailed imaging of dopamine-related nerve cells in the brain.
This method is used for:
DaT-scan provides clear and detailed brain imaging, improving diagnostic accuracy in complex neurological cases. Results can usually be obtained the next day.
Special English reports are prepared for international patients, and the process is managed with language support.
